“Hot Dogs on a Cold Day”

The Holyoke Parks & Recreation Department and Mayor Alex Morse are pleased to announce the City’s 2nd Annual Dog Show to be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, as part of the Winter Carnival. All area dog owners are welcome to participate. The categories of the competition are:

  • Fastest Tail Wagger
  • Best Dog Trick
  • Most Obedient
  • Walks with an Attitude
  • Best Smile
  • Best Dressed
  • Best Fur/Hair
  • Best Mystery Mutt
  • Ear-resistible Ears
  • Dog & Owner Look Alike

Best in Show- Voted by the Audience

All dogs must be licensed and accompanied by people who are 14 or older.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded by a panel of 3 judges in each category.

The registration fee is $8.00 per dog. Each participant is limited to compete in 2 categories. Owners are responsible to clean up after their dogs. Humans are welcome to attend this event, free of charge.

The maximum number of participants is 25 per category. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first serve basis until Wednesday, February 26, 2013.

We welcome all local veterinarian and pet supply agencies to participate by setting up an informational table. Please contact the Parks & Recreation Dept. @ 413-322-5620 or houlec@ci.holyoke.ma.us to learn more about attending or providing donations for this great event.
